Prof. Emeritus Batrić Pešić

Batric Pesic is a Distinguished Teaching Faculty (1997-Phi Kappa Phi) at the University of Idaho, Moscow, ID, USA.

He has received his BS degree in metallurgical engineering from the University of Belgrade-Campus Bor, Serbia. In 1976, he received MS (1979) and PhD (1981) in metallurgical engineering from the University of Utah, Salt Lake City, UT, USA. Upon graduation, Dr. Pesic moved to Canada and worked for Hudson Bay Mining and Smelting Company, Flin Flon, Manitoba. In 1983, he returned to the States to join the University of Idaho (College of Mines). His initial research interests were in extractive metallurgy (PGM-platinum group metals, cobalt and nickel) followed by environmental areas (bioremediation, remediation, biocorrosion, and corrosion). The latest research involves electrochemistry in high (molten salts) and low temperature ionic liquids.

He has extensive consulting experience with major chemical and metallurgical corporations in North America, Europe, and Africa.
